The Peterborough Food Partnership is working together to develop a fair food system for Peterborough.

We are made up of representatives from the local farming community, local food businesses, the public sector including Peterborough City Council, NGOs, community food groups, and our local academic institutions, who agree to work together for the city.

Our Objectives

To create a Food Strategy with a diverse range of stakeholders and in focused subgroups that will be growing, reviewed and developed that represents the needs of the city.

To build an engaged city of good food citizens, raising awareness of environmental issues and healthy food through education, engagement and working with communities and businesses in the local area and support the development of new initiatives through discussion and collaborative working and celebrating the work already being done.

To support the tackling of food poverty and ill-health related to bad diet through education, working collaboratively, as well as promoting campaigns.

To create a better food culture; promoting a culture that celebrates and shares food that values local and sustainable produce and independent businesses; as well as work towards food equality where a range of affordable and sustainable food choices are available and advertised.

Reduce ecological impact through reducing waste, minimizing unnecessary emissions by promoting and supporting shorter supply chains and sustainable food production.

To support changes in procurement and decisions around food through active engagement across the city.
